Bitton House is a historic house located in Teignmouth, Devon.
It was originally constructed in the late 18th century, around 1790, by Sir John Major, who was the Lord Mayor of London at the time. It was built as a grand Georgian mansion, reflecting the architectural styles and grandeur of that era.
One of the most famous aspects of Bitton House is its connection to Charles Dickens. He is believed to have stayed there during his visits to Teignmouth, and it is often said that he wrote parts of his novel “Nicholas Nickleby” while staying at the house.
Over the years, the house changed hands several times and served various purposes. It was owned by different private individuals before being acquired by the local council. The building now functions as the Teignmouth Town Council offices and houses a local museum.

Motion-sensored alarms and lights are triggered and the sense of being watched is often felt.
It is said that a couple once fled screaming after an encounter, they never returned.
A collaboration between Ghostly Nights & Dark Dimensions carried out a private livestream investigation recently, we left stunned with what we had witnessed and the activity carried on even after leaving and locking up the building.
We are excited to bring you this fantastic location and can't wait to welcome you.

Some important information...
What to expect on the night...
We typically start the night with a circle of protection and a chance to experience a few of the rooms without any equipment to immerse yourself into the night and tap into your sixth sense.
Throughout the night we will facilitate several vigils including modern and victorian techniques to investigate the hauntings.
A base-room will be provided to store all personal belongings during the night and to rest between vigils. Plenty of breaks will be provided.
You will also have 1 hour to explore and conduct your own vigils using any of the kit provided.
